Missing Ymir yesterday was hard but definitely the right decision.   I'm still not sure what bug I had, viral bronchitis or the flu.  I'm hoping that Miss M hasn't gotten sick, but it's obvious that something's not right.
She has diarrhea, and I can't imagine having to deal with that at an event.  I was glad I had Jeff go play.  He came back very excited about having played long sword a great deal during the rapier tourney.  Since he can't fight heavy yet (and we don't know if he's going to be allowed to, depending on his meds), I am so glad that he's found something that really gets him pumped.   He brought me a very nice prezzie from the event - a male dress form (also a present for him as it will decreas the amount of time he has to stand around getting pinned!).

I still need to finish my Viking coat.  I think it will be good to have for Gulf Wars.  I got no work done last week, but I did get to do a lot of reading for a change, which was an absolute delight.  I also managed to lose some of the holiday weight.  Hopefully this will keep me charged to get back to eating the way I should.  I really need to work on improving my nutrition.  I've pondered the weekly planning of menus and buying food based on that, but I'm concerned that I wouldn't want to eat that meal when the time came to fix it.

Back to sewing, after I finish the Viking coat, I want to finish  for KASF a dress I started a couple of years ago.  It's a really yummy brown wool jacquard with green velvet trim based on the Raphael Maddalena Doni portrait.

I've made the sleeves out of the same fabric as the dress.  Since I started this dress several years ago, I no longer remember why other than the fact  that I really love the fabric.  I need to rework the bodice since it was first cut as I've lost weight since then.  Fortunately there's still enough left to recut.

I also need to work on some of Miss M's clothes, letting down hems and adding guards to lengthen them.  She also needs two more shifts.  Making her clothes always requires some thought as I want them to last at least a year.  Hopefully the clothes I made for Pennsic last year can be altered to make them presentable for Gulf Wars.

I still want to reorganize the sewing room.  I never did finish organizing all the fabric, and not knowing what I have drives me nuts at times.  I also want to get rid of some of my fabric - there's just too much of it!  As well as too much other stuff.  I like having people over, and I'm running out of room.  I feel like I need to go through it all and have a major yard sale.

Off to organize!
